How To Ice Your Back The Right Way

To ice your back properly, you will need the right product – an ice pack designed specifically for the area of your back that needs icing, such as your neck, shoulders, or lower back. When you have finished moving about for the day, that is the time to ice your back. Don’t bother icing your back in the morning or in the middle of the day when you have a lot of things left to do. Place an ice pack, with a towel between the ice and your skin, directly on the area of pain and leave it there for 15 minutes. There is no need to ice for longer than that in a single setting. Ice, and then let your muscles and skin return back to normal temperature. If you still feel a lot of acute pain or swelling, ice again. Just be sure to take a break in between.
