Living A Healthier Lifestyle
The largest barrier to living a healthier lifestyle is what I want to talk about today. We see all of the infomercials on TV for weight loss, juicing and many other topics. Practically every isle in the grocery store has products that are labeled organic or all natural. These are all potential improvements that require one thing? change.
We all know that change is difficult for everyone. We are all creatures of habit. We tend to perform the same tasks daily, for starters like getting up at the same time in the morning. If you want different results your daily habits are going to have to change.
As a chiropractor, I know the utmost importance of having the ability to change. If someone needs a lifestyle change in diet or exercise, the success of their healthcare plan will be based primarily on the amount of change they are willing to implement.
You will need to be willing to break free from boundaries that you have set for yourself to see a change. Take a minute to examine how and what you think of yourself. Do you see yourself achieving certain goals? Do you think it is possible for you to lose 20 pounds? Are you the person who is willing to make healthier purchases of ingredients and make healthier meals?
Boundaries are limitations that you set for yourself. They can be a reflection of how you see yourself. Make positive statements out of your goals. For example, I will take my supplements today and not buy any fast food. You will be programming yourself for success. Make small changes in your life.
Select an area that you wish to improve. If you choose exercise, start with one to two days a week towards reaching your targeted goal. Success in any area is a process and remember that perfection is a not an achievable goal. After all, do you know of anyone that is perfect? Remember to forgive yourself if you fail, just be sure to begin again. Expand you boundaries and this will lead to change. You will see improvements in personal relationships, work, health and goals that you wish to achieve. Time to make the change!
