Spinal decompression treatment is a non-surgical, drugless, and non-invasive treatment that has helped patients who have suffered from bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, or facet syndrome. Over the past 15 years its popularity has been rising as it represents an excellent alternative to surgery. The cost of spinal decompression is less than 5% of the cost of surgery, and the risk profile is very low.

Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, also known as TOS, is a compression of either spinal nerves or blood vessels. The brachial plexus supplies the upper limb with both sensory and motor nerve fibers, and the subclavian artery supplies the blood supply. There are four areas where the plexus and artery may be and in each instance, the symptoms will present differently.

A common complaint for many individuals is shoulder pain, and this is the reason that many people seek out the services of chiropractors. Shoulder pain should be treated quickly after onset to avoid the development of a recurring problem. This type of pain can benefit from the services of a chiropractor. Chiropractic treatment will be patient oriented. It will target the cause that is specific to the problem. There are various signs that signal the need for care: inability to carry objects, raise the arm, or pain at night or during rest.

One question that I hear all the time from my patients is “how does my wife or husband know if they should be seeing a chiropractor?” There are multiple ways to know if you should be seeing a chiropractor and not all of them have to do with pain and discomfort. I have developed a test for the neck to determine if you are a candidate for chiropractic care called the “head turn test”.

In my clinic patients who receive spinal decompression treatment for herniated discs are first treated with ultrasound to heat up the connective tissue allowing the tissue to elongate easier. Ultrasound treatment prior to spinal decompression makes the treatment more effective.

In San Diego, many people come to New Century Spine Centers to get rid of their neck pain. One of the most annoying things that chiropractic patients complain of is stiff neck pain, more so if it recurs often within short span of time. It is very important that you get permanent relief from this pain rather than ignoring it and taking self medication.
