Today, about one in three American kids and teens is obese. With good reason, childhood obesity is now the No. 1 health concern among parents in the United States, topping drug abuse and smoking. Because of the increasing rates of obesity, unhealthy eating habits and physical inactivity, we may see the first generation that will be less healthy and have a shorter life expectancy than their parents.

All the different problems that are linked to low back pain are unbelievably expensive for many Western countries. If you include people who have only had one single situation in their life with back pain, then you could declare close to 100% of people have experienced some low back pain. If you are taking certain medications and eat grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice you may be a ticking time bomb. I read a true story that shocked and surprised me. I bet it will shock and surprise you too. Here is why this is so surprising. In this story, a retired gentleman spends his summers up north and winters in the south as many do. This is what natives call a snowbird in the east coast. Two months after coming to sunny Florida, this retiree dropped dead. Doctors believe the cause was a deadly interaction between the two to three glasses of fresh grapefruit juice he drank everyday and his medication that he took also. Drinking grapefruit juice and eating grapefruit can be deadly for people who take certain medications, according to a paper. In this particular case of the snowbird, the fatal interaction is believed to be between the grapefruit and Lipitor.

Up to 80% of all adults will have at least one episode of back pain during their lifetime. Half of those people will never find out the cause of their pain. Back pain affects the majority of people. The most common cause of back pain is a muscular strain or sprain, which is the culprit in around 85% of the cases. Many people will try a variety of home remedies for their back pain, some with very limited success. Others may go to the doctor, however, they will find that the doctors think that 80-90% of all episodes of back pain will clear up on their own, usually in six to twelve weeks time.
