Not every chiropractor was made equal. Sounds silly right, but they all look at the body in different ways. If every person had the exact same body this would not be important, but the fact is, we are all different so there has to be different techniques to address everyone. I have made a short list of things that you should be watching for when looking for your Bellevue Chiropractor.

Being a Bellevue chiropractor, and after seeing thousands of patients over the years, I have begun to see certain patterns in certain groups of patients. For instance, woman who wear high heels for many years have a VERY high likely hood they will have low back pain. Another one is people who have computer jobs all have very similar neck and back problems, and their necks all have a certain look to them. This has become so common in the city that I practice, Bellevue WA, because of the many computer jobs, that I have coined the term “Bellevue Neck”.

Consider this scenario: you’re cleaning your home. You’re vacuuming, scrubbing floors, and moving a few heavy items to reach areas that rarely see sunlight. Because of the effort and strain you’re placing on your body, you’re working up a sweat. Suddenly, while scrubbing your kitchen floor, you feel a sharp pain in your lower back. The pain is followed by stiffness – the kind that makes routine movements agonizing.

William Garner Sutherland D.O. (1873-1954). His 54 year epic journey began when, through Divine Providence, he noticed, that the cranial sutures of the temporal bones were “beveled like the gills of a fish” indicating the ability for movement with the parietal bones, allowing for expansion and contraction. He was an Osteopathic physician and the founder of Cranial Sacral therapy. Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, the founder of the first Osteopathic school in America, was the inspiration for Dr. Sutherland’s epic journey. Both doctors believed, that the bones of the skull could move. It was controversial within the medical community then, as it is controversial today. Dr. Sutherland was a deeply spiritual man and later described the origins of the breath of life , a term we revere in this work ,from the Book of Genesis 2:7. This later became the foundational believe of Cranial Osteopathy

Whiplash is defined as an injury that occurs when the head is abruptly jerked either forward or backward, causing the neck to move outside the normal range of motion. While the most common cause of it is a motor vehicle accident, there are other causes. Symptoms and treatment vary according to the severity of the injury. Some persons suffering from it recover in days or weeks; others continue to suffer months or even years.
