Recently, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration finished its survey results on drug use in the US. The results showed some encouraging improvements along with some concerning statistics.

About 1% of America at any one point in time has a herniated disc. About a 4th of these folks with back pain have a herniated disc and over 90% of these are situated in the lower back.

Occasionally a lumbar disc herniation pushes on a nerve root causing sciatica. The sciatic nerve is a combination of multiple nerve roots including the 4th and 5th lumbar nerve and the 1st sacral nerve root coming together.

Orthopedic beds are very popular for people that have some kind of musculoskeletal condition, or mobility issue. Resting on a regular bed can cause anything from mild discomfort to intense pain if you have very sensitive areas on your body due to some kind of musculoskeletal condition. Or if you are suffering from mobility issues, it can put an unnecessary amount of strain on your body to have to try to move in and ordinary that.

As a male in my 40s who has suffered from chronic back pain for many many years, I got to the point in my life that I had to make a decision. Do I continue with this nagging irritating backache for the rest of my life, slowly wearing me down, or do I grasp the bull by the horns and start to take some action to resolve the problem.

Why not get bulging disc treatment? Many people have considered it. Some are doing it now. Most never got seriously interested in it and just drifted on to other things, basically staying how they were. Some didn’t get started with it because they had little idea of how to start. Others were discouraged as a result of big unknown factors.
