Millions of people are affected every year by arthritis. Typically it’s a result of normal again with simple wear and tear degenerative osteoarthritis accumulating over a period of years and at a certain point begins bothering a person chronically.

Deciding whether or not to have surgery for degenerative disc disease is an elective decision. No one ever died from having severe degenerative disc disease (DDD), so in that regard it is similar to arthritis.

Extreme lower back pain can be debilitating to sufferers and can happen to people from all walks of life with or without a prior injury being to blame. There are methods used to help alleviate it and through trial and error of treatments a better life is achievable.

In the US, there are millions suffering from chronic back pain, and just under half (45%) suffer from facet joint pain. This is called facet joint syndrome. The most common pain interventional pain management treatment by far is facet joint injections. They have a good result 80% of the time.
