In my chiropractic office in San Diego, we see patients with back pain and also have patients who ask about nutrition for proper heart health. On May 15th, 2007, the Commonwealth Fund issued a report entitled, “Mirror, Mirror on the Wall: An International Update on the Comparative Performance of American Health Care.”

How would you like to live past the age of 100? I guess that’s kind of a loaded question because you’d think the answer is simple. Like the show, “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” Of course you want to be a millionaire! Who doesn’t want to be a millionaire? Well, not Bill Gates of course. Becoming a millionaire would make him poor; at least, relatively poor in comparison. Everything is relative is this issue. For example, living to 100 years of age doesn’t interest me if I’m sick or in pain. On the other hand, I’d love to join the 100 year old club as long as the quality of my life and health was great. You see, it’s all very relative when it comes to age.

As a chiropractor in San Diego who treats many headache sufferers, you’d think that most would think there’s a shortage of aspirin in their body leading to the cause of the headache. Headaches of course aren’t the result of an aspirin shortage in the body. But the way most people treat their headache by popping pill after pill you’d think it was due to a shortage. There are, however, many safe and effective treatment options for headaches. Some of them have been around for many years, and they have absolutely nothing to do with drugs surgery.

New Century Spine Centers in San Diego offers some of the most advanced spinal decompression therapies for bulging and herniated discs. Since offering treatment for herniated and bulging discs with the drx9000 spinal decompression device, they have heard over and over things like “I can’t believe I was actually thinking about surgery. But when I got my results of my MRI and I had multiple herniated discs, my other doctor said it was my only choice. If it wasn’t for the news special they had seen on TV and your free reports with all the proof, I never would have known about the spinal decompression therapy program and I’d probably still be suffering today.

It seems like every week, I find out about someone who had a surgical procedure to alleviate awful chronic back ache and ended up far worse off than they had prior to surgery. Among the list of major concerns is that money provokes surgeons to talk individuals into much greater and more sophisticated surgical procedures than they really have to have — and then those surgical procedures result in foreseeable complications.

Lower back surgery should only be considered as a last resort. It is a risk that should involve serious consideration even after all other avenues have been explored and failed. The proximity of the spinal cord is just one of the risks that should be considered. As with any invasive surgery, any number of things could go wrong leaving you in worse shape than before the procedure.

No one wants surgery. That’s for sure. For some people, the only way to relieve the pain they have in their back is to have spinal surgery. While when one thinks about spinal surgery as being totally invasive, what one makes it out to be doesn’t have to be totally invasive. There are some surgeries where it is minimally invasive spinal surgery. Let’s give you more information about this.
