Successful weight loss is not just a matter of losing pounds. The emphasis needs to be on abandoning body fat and avoiding loss of lean body tissue, primarily muscle mass. Why is this the key to long-term success? Because muscle requires 15 times the energy compared to fat to survive (7.5 Calories per day for muscle versus 0.5 calories per day for fat). The more lean tissue, the more calories one can consume once desirable body weight is achieved. Overall, a moderate diet of at least 1000 calories of high quality food per day and exercise is clearly the best approach because 80% of the weight lost is fat. This plan protects lean body mass, which is critical to keep from gaining the weight back again.

Here’s a quick riddle for you to consider. It’s everywhere because almost everyone wants it yet most never achieves it. What do you think it is? It is weight loss and it’s hard to get. You can’t flip through the pages of a magazine or the channels on television without being bombarded by advertisements for a new breakthrough miracle weight loss solution. It seems like almost everyone has the answer yet there are so many people that are still overweight in our society.

Whole Body Vibration (WBV) exercise is becoming more of a mainstream form of fitness training among the novice exerciser and competitive athletes. Not only can vibration training work your muscles in a way that conventional training cannot, but also using a vibration machine has many proven therapeutic benefits too.

Everywhere we look there is a new magic bullet diet promising easy weight loss without hard work, sacrifice or discipline. These schemes are usually low calorie, low carb, low fat etcFor every book available in stores or DVD for sale on television, there is somebody getting rich behind it. Why? Because these programs over promise and under deliver. They absolutely set the user up to fail from the get go. They might deliver initial results, however, as soon as the person returns to a “normal” level of living (or what they deem as normal), they regain the weight and usually more. There would be no market for getting people on the rebound if a diet program worked as easy as they promised and delivered lasting results. The fundamental reason these restrictive diets fail is that they encourage an eating style that goes against our ancestral and genetic needs. The Paleo Diet is the only diet program outlined that teaches all of us how to eat according to our genetic requirements.

There are certain changes you can implement that will help to bring your body mass down and improve your overall health.
